Absolutely! We specialize in helping new runners build confidence and avoid common mistakes. Our coaches will meet you exactly where you are and help you progress safely. Many of our members started as complete beginners.

A training plan is just a schedule. Our Training Team gives you coaches to answer questions, modify your plan when needed, teach you the "why" behind your training, and provide ongoing support. Plus you get access to ALL our plans, not just one.

Yes! We have live group coaching calls Monday through Friday (some days have multiple time options). You can ask questions, get feedback on your training, and learn from other athletes' experiences. No other program offers this level of coach access.

Our coaches prioritize keeping you healthy with proper pacing, strength work, and injury prevention. If injuries do occur, your coaches will help modify your training. All plans remain in your account for future use, and we cannot offer refunds for injuries.

Your training plans are delivered through Final Surge (free app), which syncs with most GPS watches. You don't need a fancy watch - the app works great on any smartphone. All strength/yoga videos can be done at home with minimal equipment.

Monthly memberships can be canceled anytime. Annual memberships are paid upfront for the year but offer significant savings. We don't offer refunds on annual memberships, so try monthly first if you're unsure.

If you're training for multiple races per year or want year-round support, annual saves you $480. If you're training for one specific race or want to try us out first, monthly gives you flexibility. Most members who try monthly end up upgrading to annual.

Your running plan will live in your Final Surge account after you officially finish your plan. To re-use it, you can manually drag workouts (it’s easiest to do this on a Desktop), or, you can print a PDF version of your running plan in Final Surge for future use.
Unfortunately, team BALG will not restart running plans for athletes to reuse after their running plan finishes.

As a member of the team, you get access to all of our running plans. From base building plans and get stronger and faster mile plans to 5K, 10K, 10-mile, 15K, Half-Marathon, or Marathon plans, we’re here to help you build strength, confidence, and have more fun on the run! Our team members unlock access to Running Plans for all types of runners, from first-timers to marathoners — and everyone in between.
Our Running Plans live on Final Surge, a training app that takes the guesswork out of training. Inside Final Surge, you’ll see your proper training paces while keeping you motivated with feedback to feed your strength and stamina. (Have a Garmin or Apple watch? Your workouts will sync with your watch so all you have to do is press start!) But you don’t need a fancy watch to enjoy Final Surge! All of our running plans come with Strength x Yoga videos from Coach Amanda to round out your training, prevent injuries, and help you have more fun on the run!
We recommend joining the team 1-2 weeks before you need your running plan to begin to have enough time to get your plan set up and customized to meet you where you are. Check out our 8, 12, and 16-week running plan guides below to help you find out when training officially begins.
Training Experiences
As a member of our training team, you get automatic entry into all of our training experiences throughout the year.
Our Training Experiences range from 5-12 weeks, tackling different distances and goals from 5 weeks to Get Stronger & Faster to 12-week Half Marathon Training Experiences.
Our training experiences have a dedicated weekly coaching call where our athletes can connect and lean on for support. It’s the perfect way to get the most of the team while training for the same goal.
