Hi, I’m Samantha! I started my running career at age 19 (now 34) when my sister that’s 9 years older than me wanted to find something fun for us to do together, so we signed up for a 5k! Since then I’ve ran 10 half marathons (all slower than my sister). I’ve struggled finding a run club that would accept my slower pace and even was kicked out of one before- but at BALG I felt completed included and it didn’t matter what my pace was! This year I’ll also be accomplishing my life long dream of running a marathon at Detroit Freep!
Training with BALG is truly catered to every pace and life style (I work 60+ hours and I’m in school) and I didn’t feel overwhelmed while training.
My favorite part truly is how inclusive they are; and the first time I met the group, running into them at Central Park, everyone was incredibly friendly and I knew I’d found my people! Even the online community is very supportive of each other too!
