Welcome to the badass lady gang training team!

Week 1 of training

We do things differently here at the BALG. We believe that the mental game is just as important as physical training. All of our journals come with audio and video components to help you throughout training. Below is week 1: Training 101.

  • VDot

    Ready to get training? The platform we use for all of our training plans is VDOT. VDOT is available both on your phone as an app as well as on your desktop computer.

    Before I can assign you a training plan, you first must accept me as your coach.

  • Strength & Yoga video library

    Strength training is an IMPORTANT component of this training experience. Not only does strength work prevent injuries, IT MAKES RUNNING MORE FUN! Running is a single leg sport which means we move in one plane of motion hopping from one leg to the other. Think of the muscles and tendons in your legs as springs. The stronger those springs are, the more efficient they are at loading and unloading energy. Want to feel like you can run easily forever? STRENGTH WORK is a key component. REMEMBER, it’s not a matter of if an injury will pop up, it’s when. When you incorporate strength work regularly, it means those injuries are mere blips in the road and not something that can derail your training. Ideally, everyone should be doing strength work at least 2 days a week.

  • Join the private BALG Team group in our online community

    Our online community lives on Mighty Networks at https://www.balgcommunity.com. Within this community lives our private group created just for the members of the BALG Training Team.

    This private group is where you’ll find all communication from me as well as where you’ll go to share the highs, lows, breakthroughs, setbacks, and speed bumps throughout training. Don’t be shy! From post-run selfies, training questions, and information on how to join our weekly coaching calls, what makes our team special is all of you. Get on in here and introduce yourself!

    In the events tab of our private group, you’ll find the calendar invite to the weekly coaching calls.

  • Coaching Call Library

    Our recorded weekly coaching calls take place every Wednesday at 6 pm, 7 pm & 8 pm EST. We offer two supplemental “office hours” coaching calls that are not recorded on Tuesdays at 3:00 pm ET and Fridays at 12:00 pm ET. Check the events tab in our Team Group on Mighty Networks for links to this week’s coaching call.

    For those who cannot make our Wednesday calls live, we make the video as well as the audio available. Here, you can watch the videos whenever it’s convenient for your or take the audio on the run.

  • Weekly Journals

    We are huge believers in journaling. Here you will find journals for all the different training experiences (that offer them) as well as a blank template for your weekly runs.

    These journals are for you to use throughout your training to develop your mental game.

    Each weekly journal has a guided run to accompany it. :) ENJOY!
